Despite that. Fun to get it all starting again, and a pleasure to see Rice, Burke, Cullen, Holland and Fernandes playing well.

It's great seeing the likes of Cullen and Martinez out there, we have full backs at last and center backs and good young midfielders. in Lanzini, Edmilson and Cullen as well as Obiang and Kouyate.
If we can get that one forward, I feel that one of Carroll or Sakho will score a few and then there's Antonio, the kid that can play anywhere and score.
No Drama.. This lot were all drinking sangria's a week ago and as a kid that used to go see us play pre season at places like Wycome wanderers and Grays, I certainly have nothing to moan about :)

100% agree. And they say you can't tell much from friendlies but I defy anyone to look at this game and not see how far Lanzini is ahead of the rest of the squad. Not just skill, but work rate and will to affect the game.
Players who just want to coast through a friendly jogging about are showing a weakness in their mentality imo.

Every year I hear it's only a friendly.result don't matter, all about fitness. We have to also get a winning mentality. Soft as melted ice cream we are and it cost us last year with an awful pre-season leading into poor Europa qualifying and start to the season. These players should want to win every time they pull on that shirt. It's an honour.

Not sure Cullen is a natural anchor man, but he's great at getting the ball and giving it to Lanzini. That's what we need honestly.
